Kayla K. is originally from Indianapolis, IN, and she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She recently moved to Atlanta, GA and has found herself enjoying the thriving art scene as well as being surrounded by many other inspiring artists. She is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to prove that art can be inspirational and life-changing when it’s seen everyday.
Inspiration for Kayla can pop up at any time and in any place. She is not confined to one subject area, preferring to vary her projects and media. Though encaustic is one of her favorite mediums to work with, she also likes to extend to textiles, jewelry, acrylic and oil painting. The creation process for her is aesthetically driven by an admiration for the fundamental power of color. She relishes the process of experimenting with color and exploring its energy using different materials and techniques.
She currently resides in the Midtown neighborhood of Atlanta with her husband, Brett, and their cat, Malibu.
