Dying Silk Scarves

Picture
Create two beautiful Habotai silk scarves!

Use a variety of folded and clamped techniques to make geometric patterns in a variety of vibrant colors on silk scarves. Learn how to apply dyes, blending the colors. The colors will be steam set, and the scarves will be ready to model by an evening event.
Everyone will go home with washing instructions.

Glass Etching

Picture
Learn how to personalize any glass vessel with your own design or message! An artist will teach participants how to custom design their own set of wine glasses. Alternatively they can etch a carafe or bottle along with a pair of wine glasses.

Individuals may draw their own designs or initials to monogram, or choose from a selection of stencils. They’ll learn how to transfer their design to the glass and etch. Cheers!

Marbling Coasters

Picture
Learn the art of changing up the ordinary through the beautiful process of marbling. Groups have fun learning this time tested artisan craft by creating a set of four (4) unique coasters.

Marbled wood is a variation of a paper marbling technique that dates back to the twelfth century. Each coaster will have it’s own unique swirls and whirls of dazzling color.

Painting - Still Life

Picture
Paint your art out! Each participant finds their own sense of expression and artistic sensibility while painting. Choose from:
COLORS AND THEIR MEANINGS– discover how different colors make us feel while painting a still life.
ART & MUSIC– work on an abstract painting while listening to music.
STILL LIFE– paint objects as we see them with a lesson on how to draw and understand light and shadow to create dimension. With guidance from an experienced artist, individuals will find their own style.

Painting - Teambuilding

Picture
This is a painting experience perfect for groups and teambuilding. Everyone has fun working together while learning to appreciate the talents and abilities of their friends and colleagues.

Participants paint multiple 2” x 2” pieces of wood that will be divided in half. These painted tiles are then shared and exchanged among the group. Each person creates a collaborative, original, contemporary work of art.

Paper Flowers

Picture
Create a bouquet of 10 paper flowers - They look realistic!

Using Italian crepe paper, make two to three different types of flowers including a large peony and small asters. The instructor will demonstrate how to watercolor the paper, and you will be able to use paper that has already been painted.

Each person creates at least ten flowers.
