Description: This 10-session* semester introduces art elements such as line, shape, color, space and value through examination of artworks, studio projects and discussions. Different media and skills are introduced such as paints, collage materials, drawing materials, etc. Students will become familiar with:
- Drawing: pencils, oil pastels
- Painting:watercolors, tempera paints
- Collage making: different types of papers and cloths

Introduction to Art: Art Foundation Curriculum II - Series of 10 or 14 Lessons
Description: This 10-session* semester builds on Art Foundation Curriculum I. Mixed media projects are designed to build, combine and expand experiences to a higher level. All students, at every grade level will be offered a range of experiences in color, design, drawing, painting, sculpture and crafts. The developmental stages and individual needs of each child will be considered at each grade level. During the second semester students will complete two different mixed media projects from the choices below:
- Clay
- Painting
- Sewing
- Papier mâché
- Simple weaving
