See her project offerings in: Glassworks, Felting, Bookbinding
Emily A. radiates creativity. Sit down with her and she comfortably describes how to bind books in a variety of leather or collage covers, explains how to felt, make stained glass or glass ornaments and pendants, batik, make and work with henna dye, do Japanese weaving, fabricate Ukrainian Easter eggs, and the list just goes on. She learned how to batik at summer camp when she was 12 and considers herself a serial hobbyist with a strong affinity for textile work, including batik, weaving, dye-work and felting. Her formal education includes a Master's in Architecture from The Georgia Institute of Technology. She began exhibiting 15 years ago on the festival circuit. She has taught at Callanwolde and at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina.
Emily "believes that anyone can be an artist, even if they can't draw a straight line. Art is all around us, in everything we see and do. I love helping others realize that they can make beautiful things that enrich their lives and make them smile."
